ZTE USA Hosts Charity Night to Benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County
ZTE Charity Night, taking place at tonight’s Texas Legends basketball game. ZTE USA is hosting tonight’s event in partnership with the Texas Legends in order to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County.
Continuing a long tradition of ZTE charitable activities, ZTE USA is committed to giving back to the many local communities in which the company operates. The company’s U.S. headquarters is based in Richardson, Texas, just outside of Dallas, so the Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County was a natural fit. In addition to hosting ZTE Charity Night, ZTE USA is providing a donation to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County and is in the midst of a social media campaign to enable fans across the country to donate to the Clubs.
“Giving back to the communities in which we live and work is very important to us and speaks to ZTE’s mission to help people around the world connect with one another in meaningful ways,” commented Lixin Cheng, CEO, ZTE USA, and president, North America Region, ZTE. “We are so pleased that our partnership with the Texas Legends will benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County and will help to empower the local children in the community that so many at ZTE call home.”
“The Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County is proud to call ZTE one of our partners,” remarked Mike Simpson, CEO of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County. “Both ZTE and the Texas Legends give a tremendous amount back to the community, and we are looking forward to a long-term partnership with both organizations.”
ZTE has a long-standing philanthropic tradition of positively impacting communities and was recently ranked by Fortune China as one of the Top 10 Corporate Social Responsibility performers for Chinese companies in China. This is the second consecutive time that ZTE has been named as one of China’s Top 10 CSR performers. To accomplish this goal, the company has participated in numerous corporate philanthropy initiatives around the globe. Examples include: enabling better communications between relief workers and the earthquake victims of the Japan tsunami in 2011, providing free computer equipment to schools and hospitals in remote areas of South Africa and Ethiopia to enhance education and healthcare systems, and monetary donations and volunteerism at Spofford, a residential home in Kansas City, MO offering services to children suffering the effects of abuse and neglect. ZTE will carry on its philanthropic efforts, both in the U.S. and around the world, to continue helping to better communities where the company resides.
