FRISCO, TX (Mar. 16, 2015) — In a truly unique partnership, the Texas Legends and ZTE USA, one of the fastest growing smartphone brands in the United States, will host a charity game night on March 21 and a weeklong social media campaign to benefit Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer. The Dallas-based non-profit organization is dedicated to raising awareness and funding for pediatric cancer research nationwide.
Beginning March 16, ZTE USA will donate $1 to Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer for each fan that shares ZTE USA Facebook or Twitter posts that include #ZTE4WOKC. ZTE USA can be found on Twitter at www.twitter.com/zte_usa and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/zteusa.
“Giving back to the communities where we work and live is a core value of ZTE. We are honored to support children and families during trying times in any way we can,” said Lixin Cheng, chairman and CEO of ZTE USA. “We are looking forward to hosting a fun and successful social media campaign and charity game night with the Texas Legends to support a great organization and the mission to wipe out kids’ cancer.”
When the Legends face the Boston Celtics affiliate on March 21, players will be wearing uniquely branded jerseys that will be silently auctioned during the game, with all proceeds benefiting Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer. Bids can be made in the North concourse of the upper bowl of Dr Pepper Arena.
“We whole-heartedly give our thanks to the Texas Legends and to ZTE USA for their support,” commented Evelyn E. Costolo, CEO of Wipe Out Kids Cancer. “It gives us great pleasure to partner with two organizations that give back so much to their local communities. We are looking forward to the long-term partnership that this evening is going to solidify.”
